Summary

Part of a package of 5 bills which rewrites and replaces the legislation currently providing for the administration of Australia’s offshore petroleum resources, the bill replaces the

Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Fees Act 1994
by providing for annual fees to be payable in relation to petroleum exploration permits, retention leases and production, infrastructure and pipeline licences; and makes transitional arrangements.

We acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of country throughout Australia and acknowledge their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to the people, the cultures and the elders past, present and emerging.
